The Good Policy Institute Driving
Systemic
Impact.

A research and advocacy organization dedicated to evidence-based policy solutions at the intersection of racial equity, civic justice, and institutional reform.

Mission
There's a gap between what research says
and what communities actually experience.

We close it.

By combining rigorous data analysis with community-centered advocacy, GPI translates complex findings into real, lasting policy change — at the legislative level and on the ground.

Policy Analysis
Legislative & Structural Reform
We develop comprehensive policy frameworks that confront historical inequities embedded in New York's institutional systems. Our research doesn't sit on shelves — it becomes legislative strategy.

Community Advocacy
Centered in Lived Expertise
Policy works best when it's shaped by the people it affects most. GPI facilitates community forums and co-design sessions that put lived expertise at the center of every initiative — not as an afterthought, but as the foundation.

Founder & Executive Director
Tasha D. Young
M.S.W.

Policy scholar, civic entrepreneur, and educator building institutions that center justice, equity, and community power. Tasha founded GPI while navigating a neurodivergent brain — undiagnosed — and has since become a leading voice on the intersection of AI, neurodivergence, and civic capacity.

She thinks about how many people are doing what she did — building something extraordinary, undiagnosed, without the language or the tools to understand why it feels so much harder than it should. That's why this work matters.
